The holiday season is officially upon us! Yay! Today I have a really fun roundup of amazing stocking stuffer ideas for sewers. If you have friends and family who love sewing – this list is for you! I’ve rounded up a dozen gift ideas from some of my favorite Etsy shops.
I love shopping on Etsy and supporting small businesses – especially at Christmastime! Reading the shop bios and hearing about how their business started is one of my favorite parts. When it comes to shopping for sewing-themed gifts, you’ll find unique one-of-a-kind pieces and a terrific selection of sewing notions.
For even more ideas you can check out some of Etsy’s gift guides, like this Gifts Under $30 list, for even more ideas. The little Sloth Air Plant Holder would look so cute sitting next to a sewing machine!

Sewing pins are a basic supply for any sewist and you can never have enough of them! Gift someone a new set of simple pins or try giving them unique decorative pins. Carole Davidson of Pincushion Crazy has beautiful beaded pins in all sorts of themes from bumblebees to sea life to cute beaded kitties!
There is something so fun about using a pair of unique embroidery scissors when working on a project! There are so many cute ones on Etsy and Claudia from Crafty Wool Felt has a huge selection. She has all your favorite animal scissors like llamas, cranes, roosters, and owl eyes – plus the prettiest floral vintage scissors! A pair of these would make a great gift for any sewer.
While we’re talking about scissors, check out these fun scissors fobs created by Cherry Chick of Decorative Sewing Pins. Perfect for jazzing up your favorite pair of plain scissors. My favorite is the sewing machine but she has a bunch to choose from. One of these would also look cute as a zipper pull!.
Pin cushions are a fun idea for gift giving especially when they are as cute as this little porcupine! Handsewn by Lisa Higuchi of Dandyrion, this little porcupine is ready to hold your pins! Filled with ground walnut shells, the porcupine will help keep your pins sharp!
Illustrator and designer Justine Gilbuena has created the sweetest enamel pins based off of memories of her childhood. I love the tin of butter cookies filled with sewing notions and definitely need to grab one of the scissors pins! What sewer hasn’t uttered the words, “For Fabric Only!”. She also has a vintage sewing machine and embroidery hoop that are also worth checking out.
Gifts for sewers don’t have to be limited to just sewing notions! These stickers designed by Kate Sabin of Just Add Sunshine are proof! She has a huge selection of vinyl stickers perfect for adding to your water bottle, laptop or planner. My favorites are the ones geared towards makers but she also has inspirational quotes – all created in her cheerful color palette. While you’re visiting her shop, check out her awesome wooden houses too!
Another unique gift idea is embroidery hoop jewelry, like these necklaces created by Sara Shoemaker of The Kitschy Stitcher. I first found her shop after seeing her beautiful embroidery hoops on Instagram. She mixes embroidery with colored pencil for the coolest effect. You can purchase necklaces like her hipster glasses or floral hoops or have one custom made with an initial!
