Can you believe this year is almost over!? I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! Today I’m sharing these fun New Year cards! These are an update on an old card I made back in 2014! Wow quite a while ago! I updated the printable files and took new pictures of them. They are such a fun and easy way to wish someone a happy new year!
There are three card designs to choose from. Print and send them as is or embellish them with added sparkle before sending! Below is the tutorial plus you’ll find the free printables at the end of this post.
Happy New Year Card
Supplies Needed
- Free printable cards – Grab the free file by filling out the purple form at the end of this post.
- 110 lb white paper
- A7 envelope – finished cards measure 5″ x 7″
- Gold, silver, and glitter paper scraps
- Adhesive rhinestones (you may want to skip these if sending your cards in the mail)
- Hole punch in different sizes
- Glue – I used these Glue Pens
- Thin gold cording for bows
- Paper Trimmer and Scoring Board are optional :)
These are two packs of paper I love to use for glittery paper or fun gold prints! I love the glitter paper because it’s very sparkly without leaving any glitter on your hands or projects.
Step by Step Tutorial
Step One: Download and print the free printable cards!
Start by downloading and printing the card you want to make. There are three designs to pick from! I like to print on 110lb white card stock. Trim the card with a paper trimmer or cut it out with a scissors along the gray line. The center gray line is for scoring.
Step Two: Embellish the cards!
Start by punching lots of confetti shapes using a hole punch. I used two different sized hole punches and scraps of gold and glitter paper.
Start by sticking the adhesive rhinestones in the glasses or on the printed dots. Use a glue pen to add the tiny punched confetti dots! Overlap them and place them randomly mixing up the colors and textures.
A few more fun ideas:
- If you have gold stickers or a fun metallic pen, add the year to the front of the card.
- Add little gold bows to the stems of the glasses with gold ribbon or string.
Step Three: Fold and send!
Fold the card in half. If you have a scoring board and stylus score along the gray center line.
The cards are finished! The finished cards measure 5″ x 7″ and will fit an A7 envelope. I usually find my envelopes at Michael’s or Joann Fabrics, but you can also make your own using a cutting machine.
