Create an adorable ABC Animal Banner with my printable pennants! A fun decoration to add to any learning space, playroom or classroom!

Hello Crafty Friends! I love decorating with banners. They are easy to create, simple to hang and they can add a lot to any space. While I usually use banners at the holidays and for parties, I also love hanging them as room decor. I created this cute ABC animal banner for my children’s learning area and love how much color it brings to the space.

The banner features the letters of the alphabet along with my series of hand-drawn animals. I had so much fun drawing these sweet animals for each alphabet letter and think they make an adorable banner all put together. The colors and bright and cheerful and the banner is perfect for hanging in your learning space, classroom or playroom!

The Animals

Each letter of the alphabet features an animal that starts with the same letter, for example L is for Lion and Z is for Zebra. There are some fun, maybe not so well-known animals included, like N is for Numbat! This banner matches all of my other animal-themed printables as well as my free DIY Children’s Calendar!

Supplies Needed to Make the Banner

Printable Banner File
White cardstock to print on. I used 110lb white paper but use whatever works best with your printer. This 65lb white paper works well too.
Paper trimmer and/or scissors
Hole Punch
String, twine, yarn or ribbon – I used Baker’s Twine.

How to Make the Banner

The banner is an easy DIY and the listing comes with a full picture tutorial for assembling the banner. It really is as simple as printing the pages, cutting out each pennant and then punching holes in the corners to string them together. I used black and white Baker’s Twine for my banner.

Using the ABC Animal Banner

We hung our banner in our learning space but this banner could also be used in a play room or in the classroom or preschool. Use the the letters of the alphabet as I have and create an ABC banner or use the pennants to write a child’s name or your choice of words. Print and cut the letters you need and string them together to write any word you want! (Please note the pennants print four to a page, so while you can choose to use selective pennants you cannot change how they print.)

* This banner should not be placed near a child’s sleeping area as the string or yarn may pose a choking hazard. Safely secure to the wall and place in a spot out of children’s reach.
