Create a fun and colorful birthday banner to celebrate someone special on their big day! A few years ago I made a birthday banner and have kept it in a drawer in our dining room. Any time we have a birthday dinner I have a banner ready to go. It’s amazing how a simple banner can instantly decorate a space and make it feel so festive! Kids or adults, it doesn’t matter, everyone loves a banner on their birthday :)

I designed this new banner to be colorful and bright! The colors coordinate with my DIY Children’s calendar printables for kids and the cake illustrations are the same ones you’ll find on my Birthday calendar cards.

This banner is simple to assemble and requires just a few supplies after printing it. I like to print my banners on 110lb white paper. It is sturdy but still goes through my printer. Every printer is a little different, so you’ll want to check your printer to see what paper weight it can handle.

Supplies Needed:

Printable birthday banner – Grab the free file by filling out the purple form at the end of this post.
Cardstock – I used 110 lb Neenah White Cardstock
Scissors and Paper Trimmer
Hole punch
Yarn, twine, or ribbon

Assembling the Banner

Step One: Download and print the banner. Cut out each pennant using a scissors and paper trimmer if you have one.

Step Two: Use a hole punch to punch holes in the top corners of each pennant, just inside the colored borders.

Step Three: String the pennants together using ribbon, twine or yarn. Be sure to leave long strands on each end of the banner for hanging. You can add a piece of tape on the back of each pennant to hold them in place on the yarn and keep them evenly spaced.

The banner if finished! Hang it up to decorate any space for a Birthday celebration!!
