Christmas Movie Printable Treat Bag
Create cute Christmas movie treat bags this holiday season! These printable bags are perfect for holiday parties, Christmas movie viewing parties, and fun gifts!
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s day #2 of my annual series “12 Days of Holiday Crafts” and I am very excited to share this fun treat bag with you! Christmas movies are one of my favorite parts of the holiday season and I created this treat bag design to celebrate some of the classics.
Can you name all of the movies on the bag? I doodled these cute images on my iPad, then turned them into a treat bag that is perfect for festive gatherings, movie nights and cute gifts. The treat bags feature movies like Elf, A Christmas Carol, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Home Alone, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
This movie-themed treat bag comes in two different sizes so you can pick the size that works best for you. These would look adorable at a holiday-themed party or a Christmas movie viewing party. Fill the bags with sweets, treats, gifts or even a gift card for streaming holiday movies!
This cute treat bag goes really well with my free printable Buddy the Elf syrup label. A bottle of syrup could technically fit in the larger bag but you would need to add a piece of chipboard to the bottom to make it sturdy enough. I also wouldn’t recommend lifting the bag by it’s handle as it wouldn’t be strong enough to hold the weight of the bottle.

Movies Featured
I’ve had a few readers reach out asking for the list of movies featured so I thought I would add that to the post. They were planning on playing games with the treat bags to see if everyone could guess the movies. How fun! Below are what movies my little doodles represent. :)
- Home Alone – red house
- Elf – green and yellow hat
- A Charlie Brown Christmas – sad pine tree with ornament
- A Christmas Carol – black top hat
- Miracle on 34th Street – street sign
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas – green hand with red ornament
- Frosty the Snowman – gray top hat and corncob pipe
- A Christmas Story – leg lamp
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – green winter hat
- White Christmas – Santa Hat (lots of Christmas movies would work for the Santa hat!)
- Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer – blue elf hat and Yukon Cornelias’s pick ax
- The Muppet Christmas Carol – Mr. Bunson and Beaker muppets
- It’s a Wonderful Life – bell with wings
- The Santa Clause – snow globe (though my kids have pointed out the base of the snow globe should have red and gold on it….so this one may be questionable for super fans of that movie!)
Supplies Needed
- Free printable – Grab the free printable by filling out the purple form at the bottom of this post.
- White cardstock – I like to print my treat boxes on 110lb white index paper or 65lb white cardstock.
- 1/4″ Double-sided tape
- Paper trimmer
- Paper Scissors
- Scoring board
How to Make the Christmas Movie Party Favor
Step One: Cut out the pieces for the treat bag. I used a paper trimmer for all of the straight edges, then switched to my paper scissors to finish cutting the pieces out.
Step Two: Score the fold lines. A scoring board is really helpful for creating nice, smooth and crisp fold lines. If you are just making one for a gift I wouldn’t worry about having a scoring board, but if you are making a bunch as party favors, a scoring board can really come in handy!
Gently fold the boxes along the score lines.
Step Three: Form the bag by placing adhesive on the tabs. I used 1/4″ Score-Tape – my favorite double-sided tape. It is nice and strong which is great for treat bags. One thing to keep in mind is the tape is not re-positionable, so you need to connect them correctly on the first try.
Attach the two pieces together using the tabs.
Step Four: Fold in the bottom of the box. Start by folding down the “H” piece, then the two side pieces, followed by the final piece with my logo on it.
Step Five: Add a paper handle to the treat bag. Place double-sided tape on the ends of each handle and attach it to inside the bag.
Step Six: Fill the treat bags with sweets and treats and enjoy! To add additional stability to the treat bags you can add a piece of chipboard or cardboard to the bottom of the box. If you are planning to make multiples, I recommend making one and testing it with the treats you plan to place inside the bag to make sure it will be strong enough.
I hope you enjoy this treat bag! Are any of your favorite movies featured on the bag? If you are looking for more fun treat bags be sure to check out my Christmas crafts page! I love making treat boxes and bags for the holidays, here are a few of my favorites.
