A tin bucket sits in a pile of paper confetti filled with food for a movie night.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s the last day of my “12 Days of Holiday Crafts” series! I hope you have enjoyed it and hopefully have been inspired by some of the projects! I had a lot of fun making them and finding new ways to DIY Christmas gifts and decorations. Today I have a great gift idea that can easily still be recreated for Christmas – a Cozy Movie Night Gift Bucket!

Movie baskets, movie tins, movie buckets – they aren’t new but they are always a great gift idea! This type of gift is especially great for a Secret Santa gift exchange or a last minute gift. It’s the kind of gift you can create for someone you don’t super well but also a gift you can customize for someone particular with all of their favorite treats!

This movie bucket is all about a cozy night in. Perfect for the cold winter months ahead of us. This bucket is stocked full of snacks and treats, everything you need for a cozy night on the couch with a great movie.

How to Create a Cozy Movie Night Bucket

Filling the Movie Night Bucket

To create the Cozy Movie Night Gift Bucket, you’ll need to start with a tin bucket or a similar shaped bucket or basket. What you decide to put into it is completely up to you! I used a tin bucket I found at Joann Fabrics.

Fill the bucket and sweets and treats, plus a gift card so they can stream their favorite movies. For this cozy-themed bucket, I chose holiday-themed treats.

  • Hot Cocoa Mix
  • Carmel Corn Popcorn
  • Chocolate bars
  • Junior Mints – I was looking for Snowcaps but couldn’t find any!
  • Marshmallows
  • Google Play gift card (iTunes or Redbox would work too!)

Decorating the Movie Night Bucket

Supplies Needed

  • Tissue paper
  • Ribbon
  • Crinkle paper
  • Free printable labels – Grab the free file by filling out the purple form at the end of this post.

Start by printing the free printable labels and bag toppers. Tie a ribbon around the bucket and add the large printable label to the front of the bucket.

Use the other two printables that are long strips of patterned paper to decorate the top of any bags. I folded one over the top of my popcorn bag and cut it to the right width. I punched holes through the paper and bag and added a cute ribbon to hold it all together.

For the marshmallows, I filled pretzel rod bakery bags with mini marshmallows and then covered the twisty tie with red ribbon.

Add tissue paper on the bottom of the tin to fill the bottom and raise all of my items to the top. Next, arrange the items and fill around them with red, green and white crinkle paper. This worked great to help hold the items up and create a cute display of treats.
