Cross Stitch Peppermint Ornaments
Create a cute peppermint ornaments with this new cross-stitch pattern! Made with yarn and a round plastic canvas, these peppermints make the sweetest ornaments, gift tags, banners or even coasters!
Today is the 6th day of my series 12 Days of Holiday Crafts, which marks the halfway point in my 12 Days of a Crafty Christmas series! Today I’m excited to share these sweet peppermint ornaments and the new cross stitch pattern I created to make them -now available in my Designing Cheerfully Etsy shop!
The peppermints are made from yarn and 3″ plastic circles by Darice. I really enjoyed stitching with the yarn and plastic canvas! Filling in the little plastic circles doesn’t take too long and this was a fun twist on the type of cross stitch I usually do – embroidery floss on Aida cloth. The yarn creates really full stitches and makes the peppermints so cozy and soft.
I made my peppermints into ornaments, but they would also look sweet strung together in a holiday banner, as decoration on holiday gifts or even as coasters!
The back of each peppermint is finished with a soft layer of felt or fleece.
I made a few peppermint ornaments using pink yarn instead of red yarn! They look really sweet. These would also be fun as gift tags on holiday gifts.
The new pattern for these sweet peppermints is now available in my Etsy shop! The pattern comes with a full picture tutorial for stitching the peppermint ornaments. Once you make one you won’t want to stop!
