Hello Crafty Friends! I’m excited to share these cute black cat notepads with you today! I love making animal notepads and have made quite a few. They are so much fun to craft and gift to someone special. These black cat notepads are a fun and unexpected gift idea for the month of October. They are also a great craft to make yourself and display on your desk for the month – or entire year if you love black cats!

I recently added a cat to my collection of animal notepads. The cat joined my fox, sloth, penguin, panda and owl notepads and was a fun addition. Making the ball of string was my favorite part. I knew after making the cat I would want to make a Halloween version. I love black cat crafts around Halloween!

To create my black cat notepads, I used black, orange and purple paper. I used a dark gray color alongside the black so that some of the cat’s features would stand out.  I added yellow eyes and a cute pink glitter nose. Instead of holding a ball of string, the cat now holds a pumpkin or jack-o’-lantern! I added a cute bow to the top of one of the pumpkins using black and white Baker’s Twine.

These cat notepads are a great craft for your cutting machine but can also be made carefully by hand if you don’t mind some fussy cutting. If you do make them by hand, I recommend drawing some of the features rather than cutting them like the cat’s face.

The SVG cut file and PDF pattern are both available in my Etsy shop, Designing Cheerfully.
