Hello Crafty Friends! Today I’m excited to share a new handmade card with you today, this time an embroidered dress card! I love creating handmade cards for all sorts of occasions. They are great for adding a personal touch to gifts and celebrations. Recently, I created a DIY wedding card featuring an embroidered ring. It was so much fun to make, I decided to create another embroidered card, this time with a sweet, retro dress on the front.

This unique dress card can be used for so many occasions including weddings. It would be great for a bridal shower, wedding or bachelorette party. It also makes a great card for Mother’s Day or for anyone who loves vintage fashion. Since I was creating this for a wedding, I chose to use white embroidery floss, but this dress would look amazing in almost any color you can think of! Below you can see my version of the same dress made from black floss to be a class LBD (little black dress).

Embroidered dress card lays next to roses; card reads love stitched in embroidery floss underneath the dress design.

The pattern is available in my Etsy shop as an instant digital download. It is part of my new selection of wedding printables and patterns!

I have used this same embroidery dress pattern to create several other cards for different occasions unrelated to weddings. The dress design is so versatile it can work for many different celebrations. Use it for a birthday card, Mother’s Day card, or even a princess card. You can embellish it by adding ribbon bows, tiny paper flowers or tiny fabric rosettes to the belt.

Below you can see the little black dress card I created for a birthday card. I left off the stitched word “love” and instead used a DCWV paper stack called “Posh and Pink”to decorate the card. I stitched the dress directly onto the patterned paper and then layered paper around it. This card looks completely different from my navy and white bridal shower card!

I really enjoyed making this embroidered card. You can also check out my Wedding Ring Embroidered Card I made using silver DMC Light Effects floss. The floss adds a lot of shine and sparkle to the card!
