DIY Minnie Mouse Party Supplies
Create these fun paper party supplies for a Minnie Mouse fan! I used my Cricut Explore to make a Minnie Mouse party hat, banner and purse party favors perfect for a Minnie Mouse celebration!
Hello Crafty Friends! Do you have Minnie-Mouse loving kiddos? We do! These days it’s pretty common for me to have the Minnie Mouse theme song – “Welcome to my New Bow-tique” – stuck in my head! Luckily, I don’t mind Minnie Mouse! Polka-dots, pink and red, plus a bow business – I’m a fan! ;) For my daughter’s birthday this year, I created some fun DIY Minnie Mouse party supplies using my Cricut cutting machine. They helped make her day extra special and I thought I’d share them with you today!
There are so many fun Minnie mouse cut files in Design Space! I used the basic mouse ears found in Cricut Design Space and used it to create the party hat and banner.
Shop the Supplies I used
- Cricut Explore
- Cricut mat and Cricut Tools
- Black cardstock
- Minnie Mouse Polka Dot Paper – I was able to buy single sheets of Disney brand paper at Joann Fabrics but it may not be sold anymore. Here are a few options I found online, though I am not sure the exact scale of the dots!
- Red and White Polka Dot Paper Stack
- Red and White Polka Dot Paper Sheets
- This Mickey Friend paperstack has a polka dot sheet in it along with other cute papers.
- White Yarn
- Adhesive: Double-sided tape, glue stick and glue pen.
Creating the Mouse Ears in Cricut Design Space
I used two main files from Cricut Design Space to create the Minnie Mouse ears used in the banner and hat. There is a Minnie Mouse ears file in design space, but the silhouette includes Minnie’s Bow, and since I was adding a dimensional bow, using the Mickey Mouse Ears (#MD43B607) worked better. I used a dimensional bow that was part of Cricut Access, BOW (#M42292) and just removed the scalloped layer.
I sized the mouse ears to 5″ wide and the bow to 4.75″ and then removed the pieces I didn’t plan on using.
Minnie Mouse Paper Party Hat
I love making a special paper party hat for my kids on their birthday. It’s fun to DIY them because you can customize them for any party theme. I made this Minnie Mouse party hat following my Paper Party Hat tutorial. I used a sheet of Minnie Mouse scrapbook paper with red and white polka dots I found at Joann Fabrics. Since it was on the thin side, I layered it over thicker piece of black cardstock. I added the mouse ears and bow to the front cut with my Cricut, then topped the whole thing with a cute white pom pom!
Minnie Mouse Party Banner
The next party project I made was a DIY banner! It was perfect to hang in our dining room for cake and ice cream. I made it using the same mouse ears and bow I used for the hat. I switched between black paper and the red and white polka-dot paper. For each black mouse ears, I added a cute paper bow. To string the banner together, I punched holes in the ears and ran white yarn through the banner. I taped the white yarn in place on the back of each mouse ear so they would be evenly spaced.
Minnie Mouse Purse Party Favors
The paper purses were made using my Paper Purse pattern. I love the large red and white polka-dot bows on the front! These purses are one of my all-time favorite crafts to make. They are the perfect size to hold small treats and goodies! They also hold two bottles of nail polish perfectly on either side of the latch. I have seen some cute Minnie Mouse nail polishes that would be so fun for these.
These are the cute little Minnie Mouse decorations I threw together using my Cricut Explore! They were so fun to make and used the same paper so I just purchased several sheets of Minnie Mouse red and white polka dot paper and used that with solid black cardstock I had at home.
I’ve spent hours trying to print out your ‘FREE’ Paper Purse Pattern, exasperated now, is it free, Ive subscribed to your channel and done all you requested, not a happy crafter…
