Valentine’s Day Love Bug Craft For Kids – Free Printable Card!

Kids can create a cute Valentine’s Day Love Bug craft with this free printable card! Make the bugs out of fingerprints or using Dot markers and gift to someone special this Valentine’s Day.

Hello crafty friends! I just wanted to pop on today for a quick craft you can do with your little ones! I love sending our family members cards for Valentine’s Day. This year I needed a quick and easy card we could send for Valentine’s Day that wouldn’t take too long! This was perfect!

I created a card with the wording “Happy Valentine’s Day! – from your little Lovebug!” and let my little one create bugs using their fingers and finger paint! Don’t want to use finger paint? Grab some dot markers and let them create bugs that way! 

Add little bug details like legs, wings, polka dots and antennae using a thin black marker. If your kids are old enough, let them add these sweet details.

Valentine’s Day Craft for Kids

Supplies Needed

• Free printable – Grab the free love bug file by filling out the purple form at the end of this post.
• White cardstock – I printed on 110 lb white paper
• Finger paint – I used Crayola Washable Kids Paint
• Dot Markers – like these Do A Dot Washable Markers
• Thin black marker or Sharpie

Step by Step Tutorial

Create the love bugs with fingerprints!

Kids can create cute little love bugs using finger paint. Let kids dip their fingers in the lid of the paint and then dot their finger anywhere on the card to create little bugs.

Create the love bugs with dot markers!

Skip the finger painting and let kids use dot markers. If you don’t have dot markers, clip a cotton ball in a clothespin and let them dot away!

Draw the bug details with a thin black marker or pen.

Use a thin black marker or pen to add details to the bugs. If your child is very little, you can do this step for them. If they are older, let them decorate their bugs!

Cut out the cards!

Trim the cards using a scissors or paper trimmer. They will fit an A7 envelope. 

The cards are finished! These Valentine’s Day cards are so sweet and a fun project to do with your little ones. :)
